Yes, We are Moving
The time has come for us to leave our rurally located, rustic, charming log home, and venture north one hour to the area in which my dad works. We will be living closer to two larger cities, both of which are beautiful, and have lovely stores, and there will me many more opportunities for my two brothers and I... I to sell my jewelry in the shops, and my brothers to maybe start a business of their own. Mama is also planning on starting a Music Studio and teaching voice lessons, and I will be brushing up my piano skills and teaching beginner piano lessons. :)
I am feeling lots of emotions about the move, the top ones being excitement, interest, a small regret that we must leave our gorgeous God-given house, expectancy, and a feeling of uncertainty. We don't have a house picked out yet... or at least 'officially' picked out yet... we have seen quite a few lovely homes in the area that would be best for my dad to drive to work from, and there is one in particular that has a creek in the yard with a quaint little bridge over it that my brothers and I are especially fond of... so we shall see what comes of that. :D
Once we move, I am sure Daddy will enjoy not having to commute 2 hours (1 there, 1 back) every day except Saturday... we also attend a sweet homechurch group that mostly meets up in Peachtree City, and when we move we will be able to get together with some of the families and do activities together on weekdays, not just when we're up there for church on Sunday.
We have been pondering this move for about a year, so I've had some time to get used to the idea, and I am very excited to see what chapter I'm about to journey through in this new season of life and what my Lord has in store for my family and I... I have a feeling he has something special and wonderful waiting for us.
So far, we have had two unofficial 'showings' of our house that had us working like busy beavers to make sure everything was in "apple-pie order"... and since we are planning on listing it on the market later this week, I am sure we will be kept on our toes working to keep everything nice and tidy in case somebody surprises us with a sudden request to see the house. :) We have a wonderful realtor though, and I am confident that she will do her best for us. She helped us buy this home four years ago and bent over backwards to do everything she could for us! I have absolute confidence that she will do just as good a job this time as she did then. :)
My family and I would appreciate your prayers for us in this time of change. Thank you! :)
Hugs,

I know how it is having to move, especially having to sell your house. There are definitely mixed feelings, but it's always so exciting to see what the Lord has planned for us next! I will certainly keep you all in my prayers, Julia.

P.S. - I love your new signature!! ;)
I can sense peace in this writing, Julia. I must commend you--you certainly see that God can do something no matter where you live.
ReplyDeleteI understand about the commute thing, though, for your Dad =) My dad wishes he didn't have the 1/2 hour commute sometimes.
Yay! It will be great to have you up here closer to us! :-)
ReplyDeleteAllison,
ReplyDeleteYou have summed it up well! :D We are very excited about moving, yet also sorta sad to be leaving our log home. :)
Lindsay,
Exactly! :) Thank you so much for your prayers. They are greatly appreciated! :) (Glad you like the signature! :D)
Ella,
It's true... I am at peace, though sometimes I'm in the middle of turmoil... I am learning a valuable lesson that I need to Trust Him no matter what. :) And yes, Daddy will enjoy the much shorter commute. :)
Anna,
You have a blog profile now! wow! :D Yes, it will be lovely to be near you all! I can't WAIT to come to my first Crochet Night at Lauren and Kayla's house!! :D :D :D
Blessings,
Julia
I can feel the excitement there by the way you write it. Thanks for sharing! Will definitely be thinking of your family this week.
ReplyDeleteVisit my site and look for the 'Blessed to be a Blessing' post. I have something for you.

Oh what a neat opportunity. I am glad for you but I am sure there are mixed feelings of excitement but sadness in leaving. I am praying for you and am excited to see what the Lord will do!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs!
Your Not so secret SSA
I pray that you and your family will be guided by the Lord's hands and feel him there with you as you make this move and make other big decisions.
ReplyDeleteI live in Georgia too. So I may have some friends that would be interested in your house. (Depending upon where your house is located.)
I am actually taking violin and really like it. I have taken piano for about eight years now and that is really helping me as I learn violin. Do you play violin as well as piano? ( Much luck, on teaching piano. Piano sounds like a fun thing to teach. :D)
~Many Blessings~
I pray that your move goes smoothly...I know what it is like having to move, especially with very fond memories you and your family enjoyed at your house.
ReplyDeleteBUT, like you said, the Lord truly does have a plan in store for your dear family. :) Praise His Name!!
God bless you, Julia, and as the days continue to go on, that our heavenly Father will surround each of you with His love and rejoice over you with His singing. :)
Love in Him,
Rachel M.
Hi Julia!
ReplyDeleteI remember moving to our farm a few years ago...it was sad leaving the only house that I knew, but I LOVE it where we are now, and so thankful to mom and dad for sacrificing an "easy life" to be out on the farm for us. Anyways, I'll be praying for you all as you're busy packing etc.!
Have fun on your new adventure:)

I know how it is to have your house on the market. We had ours up last year and we got really good at cleaning the house very quickly!:) A tip of mine to make your house very cozy is lighting candles that smell really good before the people arrive. Something small can make your home very inviting because the people that bought our house said that it smelled great when they walked in!:)
ReplyDeleteI hope everything goes smoothly!
Abigail
Thank you so much for the comments, everyone! :)
ReplyDeleteOne quick note...
I love the candles idea! :) Our house already smells lovely when you walk inside because the pine logs it's constructed from have their own savoury, woodsy smell. :) So that's an advantage. :)
