Tonight I am sitting at my old desktop computer in my bedroom, thrilled at the makeover we've given it. We finally got a wireless router so my brothers can go online with their laptops, and then invested in a whatcha-macallit that plugs into my desktop computer so it can also go online. So now, I can blog from my room instead of going upstairs to the loft. Yay! :)
I remembered why I never used this computer before when I tried using the new internet on it... the monitor fuzzed out after a few seconds and you could only barely read the letters... that is, if you were straining your eyes. I was concerned about damaging my eyesight! Thankfully, my dear friend Taylor's family had a monitor they weren't using and let us take it to use on my computer. We will probably return it to them when I get a new laptop. But anyway - we installed it and I LOVE IT! :) It's a huge dinosaur of a monitor, but it has such a nice big flat screen! I already adore how it looks. :)
Now, as for the subject of my post.
I have never been to Starbucks before in my entire 18 and 3/4ths -year-old life. Can you imagine? I do have an excuse in that I live in a small town that has been affectionately (and not-so-affectionately) called "the Land that Starbucks Forgot"... but then, I also don't drink coffee, so I've never had a burning desire to visit one.
Tomorrow afternoon, I will be up in a busier, thriving city and I am going to meet my dear friend Kierstyn (that I've known practically since birth) at Starbucks and spend some time catching up with her and her new husband. This means I'll probably want to order something to sip on while we chat.
So I surfed the web and checked out the Starbucks menu.
Mmmmm. They look like they've got a lot of yummy drinks there. No wonder they're such a smashing success! Much to my relief, I discovered that they DO serve other beverages besides coffee.
I particularly fancied the description of the "Peppermint White Hot Chocolate". Yum. ♥♥♥!
I think that's probably what I'll end up ordering. ;) How about you? Do you have any Starbucks Favorites?
Ah, the delights of Starbucks! :D How I do love it! Some of my favorites at this time of year are the Peppermint Mocha and the Peppermint Hot Chocolate. During the summer months, I typically get a Java Chip Frappuchino (I believe that is what it is called) or a plain Cafe Mocha. But really anything from Starbucks is good. Have a good time sipping your nice hot drink! :D

Yay! A (hopefully) new Starbucks-convert! haha ;)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger, I could not STAND coffee... and was converted just a couple years ago. :) Starbucks is now one of my favorite places to go for a treat.
One of my favorites (a seasonal tradition for me and my mom) is the Pumpkin Spice Latte; I love it, even though I don't like most pumpkin things, even pumpkin pie!
But a more Christmas-y favorite is the Eggnog Latte... Hmm! It is kinda rich, but sooo good. Or the Gingerbread one is great too! (They're both also awesome because though they are coffee drinks, it's only a wee bit; they're actually mostly steamed milk.)
I haven't tried the Peppermint White Hot Chocolate, so if you do get it, let us know what you think! :)
I hope you have a wonderful time catching up with your old friend; those are special moments.
God bless!

Yeah1 So happy for you! :D Yeah for wireless and working monitors! ;D Jessica and I might be making over our room some after Christmas...we're getting new sheets/comforters and things for our room (present from our Nan/grandmother). :) So we may want to paint too later on...it's been the same color since a few years after we moved into this house...which was more than 10 years ago! ;)
ReplyDeleteAh, sorry to say, even though I live in a pretty poplulated area, I've never been to starbucks either. :( But now that I know they sell more than coffee, I may have to try that white mint hot chocolate! ;D Yum! My mom LOVES white hot chocolates, and I love mint. :) So I could probably convince my parents to let us visit. ;) HeHe!
Love and Hugs!
Merry Christ-mas!

Definitely go with the Peppermint Mocha! They are delicious! Although, nothing compared to the Pumpkin Spice Latte's during the Autumn season :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't drink much coffee either. When I was younger, I remember ordering a Starbucks, and all I did was eat all the whipped cream off the top! lol! :D That peppermint white hot chocolate does sound yummy though. Enjoy your visit tomorrow, dear friend! :)

My favorite? Definitely the Caramel Apple Cider! I believe it's made with cinnamon syrup, hot cider, whipped cream, and caramel syrup. It is soooo good!
ReplyDeleteHave fun!

You did surprise me =) But if you aren't into coffee, go for the peppermint hot chocolate.
ReplyDeleteYet, the eggnog latte is really good: not too sweet and not too coffee flavored.
But I love the peppermint mocha! That, though, is on the rich side.
I used to hate coffee. Now, I love Starbucks =)
JULIA!!
ReplyDeleteI'm SHOCKED!!!
NO STARBUCKS!???
HOW CAN YOU LIVE?????
*grins*
I've fallen for the caramel frappuccino which I get EVERY time. :) My sisters persuaded me to try the Peppermint Mocha frappe which they love to get during the holiday season...so that's what I'll order next time!
ReplyDeleteWow, I thought pretty much everyone in America has been to Starbucks at LEAST once in their life! Haha :) I actually do enjoy coffee, so I like going there. BUT in my opinion, it's a little overrated... I've gotten coffee that tasted just as good (or better) at local caffe's ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, and the nearest Starbucks for me is four hours away. Yes, FOUR. So I only go about 2 or 3 times a year. Haha. Hey, at least Romania has one, though! ;)
~Arianna
I have only been to starbucks 2x's in my life. The 1st time I had Chai which...I didn't really like and the 2nd time I had...water.
ReplyDeleteSo. I am kinda in the same boat you are in BUT if I ever go again I am thinkin' I will be getting that drink that you are thinking about. It looks AMAZING!
Blessings :)
