Oh Sew Stylish giveaway!

My sweet friend Lindsay is giving away a bag of your choice from her etsy shop!

Lindsay is a very talented seamstress and her purses and bags are simply *Adorable*!! I'd love to have one of these! The winner will be drawn at random on August 20th, (2010) so hurry on over to enter! :D

There, now that I've shared that wonderful event with you, I thought you might like to see some of the pictures I've been taking with my new camera, which is an Olympus PEN E-PL1.

I've really been enjoying the "Art Modes", especially:

Grainy Black-&-White
Me... a self portrait. (That is my bookcase behind me and you can just see the corner of my jewelry worktable on the left.)

Pop Art:
Wild blueberries. (one of my earliest shots... the focus here is not perfect)
And...

Soft Focus:
Look at the background... see how soft and dreamy it looks?
I also liked...
Gentle Sepia:
Daddy on the porch.

Pinhole: (darkened edges)

And the Macro is impressive! Look at this picture:
I call it "The Unfortunate Tomato". Lol!

More next time!

  7. I love the wild blueberries picture. I also love the macro setting on my camera. (-: I really enjoy getting those close-up pictures. And I'm always impressed when I see any other picture with perfect focus that's close-up. I know, you said yours wasn't, but it was close!

  11. Hello Julia!
I found the link for your blog on a friend's site, and just wanted to let you know I stopped by! :) It's very beautiful, and I've had fun reading some of your posts! It's amazing to 'meet' a Christian homeschooled girl who lives in America. I also visited "Warfare by Ductape" and I loved it, can't wait to show it to my 16yro and 14yro brothers! :)
Anyway, just wanted to say hi! God bless you,
    Jasmine (Australia) <><

  14. Julia,
Your blog makeover looks lovely! I scrapbook, and the decorations, especially the jeweled flowers, remind me of the embellishments I could use on my pages. You did a splendid job; I like the combination of purple and blue. =)
I thought I would 'drop you a line'; I discovered your website through "Joyfully at Home" and I wanted to laugh at all our similarities! I love to read, I love to write, I love to (swing) dance, I love beautiful things, so I am sure I would love making jewelry, and I am also a homeschooled Christian teenager. I have journaled since the age of seven, though only on paper; writing is one of my favorite things to do. And guess what my name is?
    Julia!

    God bless!

    -Julia M.
