Starbucks: The Verdict

OOoooooooooooh Yuuuuuuuummmmm! :D

I must say, I am very impressed with the Starbucks Peppermint White Hot Chocolate. Delicious! :) However, next time I might order it *with* whipped cream on top. :D I forgot to specify that at the register (just naively assuming it CAME with whipped cream) and to my surprise it was whipped cream-less. :P Oh well. It was still mouthwatering.

I had a great time chatting with Kierstyn and Alex ... that was the first time I'd met Alex (Kierstyn's newlywed husband) and to my delight I found that he's a very nice guy. Yay! I am SO happy for both of them. :D :) :D

We ended up hitting Jo-Ann fabrics and I took advantage of some on-sale Lion Brand Yarn... I actually came home with a huge bagful... like I need more yarn. Ha! :D It doesn't help that some of the skeins I bought are the size of watermelons. (no kidding.) The check-out lady asked me what I was doing with all that yarn and I replied calmly "I'm replenishing my stash." *giggles* We ended up having a nice (albeit short) conversation in which I told her about my crocheted afghans.

Speaking of crochet... yesterday I saw a pillow at somebody's house that was crocheted. I examined it and noted what stitches were used, came home, and made one of the mini-blocks that it was created out of with my new yarn, and sat back and marvled. I was surprised at how I could make something without a pattern, just from seeing something else that I wanted to copy. :)

Now I just need to learn how to sew! :D But that's another story... :)

  2. Ahh, Julia, you crack me up dear! :D It's just like listening to Jessica tell of her "adventures". ;) HeHe! See, you're just like a sister to me! :D Hugs!

Thanks for letting us know how good it was! I'll have to see if we can go get one sometime. ;) WITH the whipped topping of course. ;) Sorry your's didn't come with it. Yeah, you never know in those kinds of places...I hate ordering things...even in a dunkun donuts! :P I just hurry and try to get out as fast as possible. ;) Lol!

I'm glad you enjoyed yourself with your friend and her husband. :) That's so sweet! :) I'm glad her new husband was to your liking as well. :) It's hard to "give up" friend like that because of marriage...I'm glad you and she and her new husband can all get along well and enjoy each other's company. :) (of course, you're so sweet, I can't imagine someone NOT being able to get along well with you). :)

Ahhh, more yarn! :D I know JUST what you mean dear! ;D HeHe! You'll have to write me and tell me all about it and what you got (are those watermelon sized ones some of that Baby pound of love yarn?! I just got some of that!). ;) I love yarn! I could spend all my money on it. ;) And spend hours looking at it and feeling the different yarns and such. :) Isn't JoAnn's the best?! ;) So much fun! :D Lion Brand is my favorite yarn to use. :) I've been using the Vanna's choice yarn though recently for some Christmas gifts...I love this yarn too! It's so beautiful to work with! :D And you can never have too much yarn, right? ;) Lol!

Wow! That's great! I think that's how I knew I was improving a lot in my crochet/knitting was when I started to recognize the stitches then could sometimes replicate something I had seen. :) Are you actually going to make the pillow, or were you just testing out the square? :)

OH, yes, you should learn how to sew! ;) It's fun! I'm not as good at sewing as I am with the Knitting/crocheting, but I'm trying to slowly work on it. ;) HeHe!

Well, I'll end this eternally long post now. ;) HeHe!

    Love and Hugs!
    Merry Christ-mas dear friend!

  3. That is weird that it didn't come with whipped cream. For the record, Starbucks has the best whipped cream in the world. You can tell it is the "real" stuff!

  4. Ah, Starbucks is indeed delightful! :)
Haha, and I understand the yarn thing. I love my yarn! Whenever I go to a yarn store, my mouth starts watering and my eyes start gleaming with joy... :P lol! Although I have never been able to pick up crocheting... it always ends up in a tight mess. So I just stick to my knitting. :)
